What's going on with Maynard's Groovy Bible Tunes, from day to day...
Doing a little research with Google Analytics, and it turns out that no-one clicks the "Jukebox" link in the menu. What "Jukebox" link, you say? Or maybe you say: "What's a Jukebox?!"
There's no "Jukebox" link there now, because I've changed it to "The Songs". I've always called the Songs page "The Jukebox" because I designed it to work like one - there's a button for each song, click a button, and the song you want plays and shows you the lyrics and actions. So I assumed that "The Jukebox" would be a good name for the page and the menu. I guess that people looking for Children's Bible Songs are just not interested in Jukeboxes!!!
Let's see if "The Songs" works better...
I've noticed a couple of minor errors in the sheet music for "Fifty Three Verse Six" (some missing # accidentals), and a biggy in "Sit Down (are you gonna?)" (the bass line was two beats out of sync!) - so - I've corrected them, and the downloads are now all up to date.
If you've got a copy of the complete sheet music, then download it again, and you'll get the new version.
Hmm... much to my surprise, the search function wasn't working on the Jukebox. I had fiddled with with way the song lyrics were loaded, and I hadn't realised that this affected how the search worked.
Anyway, I've fiddled again, and it works properly now - try this link:
It should take you to the search results for John 3:16...
I'm writing a song to go with God's promise to Abram / Abraham in Genesis 15 and Genesis 22.
Here are some words:
"Can you count the stars in the sky?
Can you count the sand by the sea?
There's so much sand
and so many stars
that's how your offspring will be!"
And Abram believed God
for what he could not see
and God said faith is what you need
to be counted right with me!

There are more words to come - but you'll have to wait a little while. We're trying it out on Sunday at church.
I've just been alerted to a problem with the Guitar chords in "Good Friday".
In bars 6 & 8 ("Good Friday means ... Good Friday 'cause") it reads
F#m(Em) Bm(Am) A(G) Bm(Am), but it should read:
F#m(Em) C#m(Bm) B(A) C#m(Bm)
In practice, it's easier just to play F#m(Em) for the whole bar.
I've updated the sheet music files everywhere on the site with the correct chords. Sorry if it has caused you any problems.
